Privacy Policy
Bartender’s Weekend (“we”, “us”) runs this website for San Diego’s hospitality community. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to bartendersweekend.com and to emails we send you from it.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form. Your name, email address, company (optional), the topic you choose and your message — so we can read it and reply. Submissions are stored on this site and emailed to the Bartender’s Weekend team and the agency that manages the site for us.
- Email list signup. Your email address, the date you signed up and whether you confirmed — so we can tell you about the next edition. We use double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link in the first email.
- Spam protection. When you submit a form we record a timing token, your IP address and a basic score so we can tell people from bots without showing you a puzzle. Suspicious submissions are held for a human to review, never silently deleted.
- Analytics. Google Analytics tells us which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from. It uses cookies and collects your IP address and browser details; we don’t see who you are. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on.
- Server logs. Like every website, our host keeps short-lived access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser) for security and troubleshooting.
We email the list about Bartender’s Weekend only — dates, venues, lineups, recaps and sponsor news for the event. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Past attendee and sponsor contacts from earlier years are only re-contacted to ask whether they’d like to stay on the list.
Who else sees it
We don’t sell or rent your information. It is handled by the services that run the site on our behalf: our web host (SiteGround), our email-sending provider (Mailgun), Google (analytics), and Div Digital, the agency that builds and maintains the site. Each only uses it to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept for up to two years so we can follow up. List subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Spam-protection records and server logs are kept for about 90 days.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email info@bartendersweekend.com and we’ll sort it out. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you these rights by law; we honor them for everyone.
Cookies
The site sets cookies for analytics (Google Analytics) and, if you are logged in as an editor, for WordPress itself. Our forms don’t set tracking cookies. Blocking cookies in your browser won’t stop the site from working.
